Taxonomy across Barclays
Taxonomy continues to be the missing part of the content and AI landscape. If we create taxonomies and content models and use AI to help power our well structured content, the end result for content creation and delivery will be nothing short of spectacular.
I worked on taxonomy in earnest from 2016 at Barclays. Teaming with Tellura Semantics we began by creating an overarching taxonomy to compliment the content strategy. This taxonomy was then put into the CMS (AEM) and used as meta tags to improve search for both customers and colleagues with excellent results.
The evolution of this taxonomy was the colleague taxonomy which was created to help colleagues on the internal Barclays systems. This improved their efficiencies 100% and is being used to date.
A taxonomy was also created for the investment arm of Barclays and we ran a POC on bringing in a Taxonomy Management System (Pool Party - see image).
